My friend and I were in the mood for a movie last night, so we decided to check out Charlie Bartlett. I'll admit, I didn't have high expectations going into it.
I work at the movie theatre and we got these promotional t-shirts that said "people like you are the reason that people like me need medication". Customers got really offended so the shirts were banned from being worn at work. I figured it would just be another smart ass teen movie.
But it was actually pretty good. The acting was amazing. I loved the music and the character was actually kind and had good intentions. It was an interesting twist and not at all what I was expecting.
So the Oscars are tomorrow and I'm really rooting for Atonement and Juno. Perhaps I'm biased since I haven't seen most of the others, but I really adore Juno (I've seen it four times already). I really hope that Ellen Page gets best actress. I don't think she will, but she was phenomenal and I think she deserves it. And atonement was phenomenal too, I adore the music and the cinematography. Oh well, may the best nominees win.
