So I was having lunch with one of my very best friends yesterday and we began to discuss the backgrounds on our computers and what they mean to us. I mentioned that mine was a beautiful picture of McMaster University because it inspires me to keep working when I am struggling with an assignment or studying. I graduate in less than a year and a half, and I would like to go to McMaster for medicine or anthropology of health in September 2010. And so I thought about dragging out my old cork board from high school and decorating it. I'm going to get a nice fabric to cover it up, and maybe some ribbons to crisscross it and tuck pictures under.

The man on the far right in the last picture is James Orbinski. He is a hero of mine and a tremendous influence for me. He went to medical school at McMaster, and then went on to head Doctors without Borders when it won the Noble Peace Prize. He wrote a book entitled An Imperfect Offering which I adore, and he has made a documentary called Triage that I am dying to see!
I can't wait to get started on this latest project. Unfortunately it will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon because I have a gigantic project due tomorrow that I have barely started...
